If you want to enhance your softball performance, you shouldn’t overlook the importance of having the right equipment. And one of the most significant pieces of equipment is the bat. If you choose a good item, you can definitely up your game.
Today, we chose to review a bat, which was specially created for fastpitch softball – namely the Easton Hyperlite 12 Fastpitch Softball Bat. More and more people are thinking of investing in it. But, is it actually worth it?
We’re not the ones to say – you should decide this after reading our detailed review of this product.
About The Product
The Easton Hyperlite 12 is, without a doubt, one of the manufacturer’s best-selling items. And it’s gaining territory by the day.
The bats engineered by Easton are made to be light and fast so that you can significantly optimize your reaction time.
Before we get into our in-depth review of the product, let’s see some of the key features of this bat:
We’ve already outlined in our former articles about softball bats that the barrel is an important element in the construction of a bat. Hence, our advice would be not to undermine its significance.
For instance, this item is equipped with a Hyperlite composite barrel. According to the manufacturer, this is supposed to optimize the sweet spot, in an attempt to enhance the performance of the player.
The question is: does it actually do this? Yes – after conducting several tests game after game, we’ve noticed that the sweet spot is significantly optimized.
Moving on to the -12 drop, this would mean that the bat has a perfect weight so that you can easily swing it. At the same time, it is just as balanced, considering that the weight is distributed evenly. This would make it an excellent choice for contact hitters, in particular.
On a different note, Easton used the ConneXion Composite Technology for uniting the two pieces of the bat. As a result, the amount of vibrations you are likely to experience is minimal. This isn’t all, though; the stinging sensation is reduced, as well – which is a great advantage.
What about the grip of this softball bat? After testing it, we concluded that the grip offered us excellent control during the game. To be more specific, the bat has a 1.2mm Hyperskin grip – whose goal is to maximize your stability.
What is more, the bat feels astoundingly great for all types of contact. Another aspect of equal importance is the handle. In this case, we’re dealing with a really thin 29/32-inch composite handle. We appreciated that it was both easy and comfortable to hold.
Of course, this is why swinging the bat was a breeze. We believe that this matters a lot as it reduces the feeling of tiredness during the game.
Plus, as we’ve pointed above, most official leagues in the US have approved this bat, meaning that you can use it in the majority of tournaments. We know that this isn’t the case with most softball bats; so, this is nice to know.
What Other People Say
Most people that chose to invest in this softball bat were more than pleased with their purchase – at least that’s the impression we got after reading an array of customer reviews.
It appears that this bat is more than perfect for children and teenagers alike. Considering that the bat is really lightweight, this can really be helpful for children, allowing them to hit the ball much further. This enhances their performance.
Meanwhile, another user indicated that if the bat is used consistently, its durability is likely to be impaired. Additionally, others have complained that the pop of this bat isn’t as great as in the case of aluminum bats.
Essentially, it all depends on the preferences of the player. At the same time, the style of the player plays an essential role, too.
What We Liked
Considering that this is an evenly-balanced bat, swinging it is very easy. That being said, contact hitters might enjoy playing with this most.
Being equipped with CXN zero connection, this means you can say goodbye to the painful stinging sensation and the annoying vibration that is typical of most softball bats. Evidently, we’re not saying that the vibration vanishes into thin air, but it is, nevertheless, notably reduced.
The sweet spot is optimized, in order to ensure a high-performance level. Also, it is really stable, not to mention that the price point is definitely attractive.
What We Didn’t Like
While we noted that the sting sensation is minimal, it is still there – this can be rather inconvenient. Plus, while the grip is on the comfortable side, we believe that it could do with some improvements.
When it comes to the warranty, bear in mind that each purchase features a full 12-month warranty provided by the manufacturer. As for the price point of this unit, it costs less than $200, which is surprisingly convenient considering that other softball bats on the market are much pricier.
Concurrently, the price depends on the size that you pick – the larger the size of the bat, the more you’ll pay.
We ordered our bat from Amazon. This is our top choice and that’s primarily due to the attractive discounts they offer every now and then.
All in all, Easton produces some of the most reliable bats on the market – the Easton Hyperlite 12 Fastpitch Softball Bat being one of their most renowned models. This is a great bat for a contact hitter, being hot out of the wrapper, requiring minimum break-in.
It is also really stable, not to mention that it feels great. The price is really convenient as well, making it an attractive purchase.
